Transparencies

This category includes Pictorico films for printing digital negatives, intended primarily for historical and alternative photographic processes based on contact printing.

Alternative Photographic Supplies is an official distributor of Pictorico in Poland.

Pictorico films for digital negatives

In contact-printing processes, the negative needs to provide sufficient optical density while preserving image detail.

Pictorico Ultra Premium OHP films have a microporous coating with a high ink capacity. This makes it possible to prepare inkjet-printed negatives with the density required for processes exposed with UV light.

The contrast and tonal curve of the negative can be adjusted to suit a specific process and the materials being used.

Applications

Pictorico films can be used to prepare digital negatives for processes including:

  • cyanotype,

  • platinum and palladium printing,

  • Van Dyke brown,

  • salt printing,

  • albumen printing,

  • gum bichromate printing,

  • carbon transfer printing,

  • other photographic processes based on negatives and contact printing.

Negatives from digital files

Printing a negative on film makes it possible to prepare it in the required size without producing a large-format film negative in a camera.

This is especially useful when working from digital photographs or scans, and when calibrating a negative for a specific historical photographic process.
