Many photographers working in large format photography with older-generation cameras face the persistent issue of missing or incomplete film holders. Even when such holders can be found on the secondary market, they are often described as “ideal for wet plate collodion work” – meaning they are incomplete and lack the essential metal insert frame that ensures correct film positioning inside the holder.

This component is, by design, one of the most vulnerable parts of the system. It is easily bent, lost, or damaged over time, which makes fully functional original holders increasingly rare.
