Michael Huber printing ink (Munich) in a cool shade of grey, intended for printmaking and for photographic oil-based processes, particularly oil printing and bromoil.
The cool grey tone allows you to work with monochrome images without the need to mix black and white inks. It can also be used to modify other colours and prepare custom mixtures.
Use in oil printing and bromoil
In oil printing and bromoil, the ink is applied by hand to a properly prepared gelatin layer. The amount of ink, the method of application and the way the brush is used make it possible to build up the image gradually and influence its contrast and tonal character.
Grey ink is particularly useful for monochrome prints when a cooler overall image tone is desired.
If necessary, its consistency can be adjusted with a suitable medium, including linseed oil.
Printmaking
The ink can also be used in traditional printmaking and other manual printing techniques.
