Michael Huber printing ink (Munich) in magenta, suitable for printmaking and for photographic oil-based processes, particularly oil printing and bromoil.
Magenta is one of the basic colours of the CMYK system. It can be used on its own, but is also well suited to mixing custom colours and working with multi-colour images.
Use in oil printing and bromoil
In oil printing and bromoil, the ink is applied by hand to a properly prepared gelatin layer. The amount of ink, the method of application and the way the brush is used make it possible to build up the image gradually and influence its contrast and tonal character.
Printing inks are well suited to these processes because of their consistency and because they can be applied in small, controlled amounts.
Magenta can be used both for monochrome prints and for multi-colour printing or for mixing custom shades.
Printmaking
The ink can also be used in traditional printmaking techniques. It is a professional printing ink intended for manual printing processes.
