MYLAR A® jest to przezroczysta, giętka folia poliestrowa na bazie politereftalanu, która wraz ze wzrostem grubości staje się mleczna i mniej transparentna. W fotografii alternatywnej stosowana jest przede wszystkim przy wykonywaniu wielowarstwowych odbitek pigmentowych czy przy wykonywaniu tzw. transferu podwójnego, w których to wypadkach jest właściwie niezastąpiona.

MYLAR A® is a semi-transparent, pliable poliester film. In alternative photography it is especially useful when making multi-layered carbon transfer prints as well as in making the so called double transfer when it can be called indispensable.
It is also an excellent material for drying all photographic materials coated with gelatine knowing they will not stick to it once dry. It can, for instance, be used for drying fibre based silver gelatin bapers or obtaining a glossy surgace of carbon transfer prints.
It is also exceptionally useful in preparing your own silver gelatin papers, for instance in working with POP emulsions. It is also applicable whenever there is a danger of any object we are drying sticking to the surface on which it is being dried.
